Question: Why did you decide to do 2 very different jobs? Do you enjoy one more than the other ?

Hi Holly – good question! I personally prefer to do a PhD part time – I find it’s quite tricky to work well on one big project, so I work 2 jobs! The jobs don’t overlap at all topic wise, so I feel refreshed and sometimes full of new ideas when I’ve left my PhD work for a few days and come back to it. There are also some things I come across in my trial manager job that then help with me with my PhD and vice versa. I enjoy having quite a varied day and being able to switch between tasks.
I think overall I really enjoy both jobs – but my PhD is very personal to me, it’s my own research question and design, so I would have to say I like that a little more!
