      Hi,
For me it’s because there is so much to learn about the brain. Not only is it the largest, most powerful super computer we have no idea about, but the brain is the basis to reality. Everything we think, we see, we believe is dictated by the brain. That both fascinates me and scares me in equal measures.
If you look at schizophrenia where there is such a break from reality where people hear and believe things that are so dramatic and that others don’t, to me that raises the question – what is reality? Do we even exist outside the context of our brains?
These questions and so many like them and wanting to answer them is why I am so passionate about psychology.

Hi! This is a great question, I think I am so passionate about psychology for two things, one I love to learn new things especially about the mind and behaviour! The other I want to learn more about our behaviour so that we can potentially learn how to better things within society or educational institutes. Most of my work has revolved around how we learn things mostly language (to read, to write and to understand) and how we do this from early childhood and how it develops in to our teenage years and adulthood. With this I want to understand what motivates people to do this, what makes us want to learn a language? Why do we want to read? What is it about all of this makes it enjoyable even though everyone has a different ability level for reading and learning. By understanding this we can begin to explore why sometimes our motivation isn’t there or disappears and hopefully we can start to help it!
