Great question. I think my research area is quite practical, we are looking at ways to improve mental health treatment in GP practices – so it feels like we can actually make a real difference ( or i hope so at least!). Same with my other research study, where we are trialling a new treatment for an eye disease. It’s amazing to see researchers come up with an entirely new treatment and a good basis of knowledge to make us think this could really help people- and then we get to test it, analyse it and present it at conferences. I think that really motivates me – there is still a lot we don’t know yet and that we can do to improve 🙂
