Really good question, there is nutritional value to all foods that we eat. However we can classify some as being particularly ‘nutrient dense’ – this basically means foods that are high in nutrients (like vitamins, minerals, healthy fats and complex carbohydrates) but have a low weight or energy content (calories). Some examples of these types of foods are berries, dark green leafy veg (like kale and spinach), dark chocolate and oily fish (like salmon).
