      Hi,
I would really like to make a significant difference to young peoples lives through my research.
Specifically by looking at brains of young people with schizophrenia and their healthy siblings we can see what a brain looks like at risk. From this I am really hoping we can help prevent mental illness developing before it gets quite serious and significant symptoms that impact their lives and the huge impact it has on on their family too.
On a personal level, I would really like to become a professor and publish in ‘Nature’ – it’s one of the biggest achievements as a scientist!

Great question. I’d love to develop the understanding of the link between our gut and brain (the gut-brain axis). Particularly how we can modulate this based on what we eat (or any supplements that we take). This is still a relatively new area of study, but I find it really interesting so it would be great if my research aided understanding.

Wow! This is a really good question! We are really interested in impact in science! I work in interpersonal threat detection and I am really interested in creating a tool to help assess an individual’s ability to detect threat. This is specifically tailored for police so that those who are less accurate can be trained to become more so and also help influence decision making! Its a fascinating research area with the capacity for really high impact work!
