      So far I have found two separate brain cell populations in the emotional part of the brain (the amygdala) that are either involved in forming spatial memories (how you remember your way home) and object/item memories (remembering a particular toy you love). We can now test how the amygdala adds emotional attachment to these specific types of memories and figure out how to stop it going wrong in dementia or during anxiety attacks.
