Hi Tayla! I’m not sure that I’ve done anything yet that you would classify as amazing. But so far I’ve done lots of interesting things! I look at how food (and components of foods) can effect your health and brain function. So far I’ve looked at a range of different things like: dark chocolate, energy drinks, tomato juice, rosemary water and resveratrol (found in red wine and grapes), but the research centre I work in has looked at a lot more too. One of my best achievements so far was my master’s research project on a health drink called Rosemary Water. I found that drinking this could improve cognitive performance and blood flow in the brain. These results were published in a scientific journal and the company that makes the drink used the research to advertise their drink. So that was quite exciting to see my research out in the ‘real-world’.
Hi Taylac,
Ellen has given a fantastic answer to your question. I would just like to add as a scientist, very little is completed o achieved in isolation. As quoted from the homepage of google scholar ‘Stand on the shoulders of giants’
