I really like it, because as a lecturer I get to split my time between two things, teaching and research, so I never feel bored. I really enjoy teaching psychology as it is so varied and interesting, and I remember how it felt to be a student and the things I struggled with, so I enjoy trying to help others with these parts of the course (in particular, the maths and statistics! I really found that difficult when I was studying psychology).

Hi KiaC. I’ve been a psychology lecturer in the Philippines for a brief time (three years when I was 25). Unlike here in the UK, lecturers in the Philippines focus mostly on teaching. I had a big group of students to teach and I found it overwhelming to mark their papers. But overall, I enjoyed transferring to students what I learn at uni. Although, I’m not sure I’ve been a very good lecturer. I am not very good with explaining things, as you can probably tell.
