Hi Erin, right now I am testing a radio show in Tanzania to see if it helps girls 13-15 and adult men understand what makes a healthy romantic relationship, and how to avoid bad relationships. The radio show is about a 14-year-old girl who faces a lot of pressure at school, from her friends, from her family, and from men in her community, as she tries to figure out what to do.
I am currently working on a research project which focuses on increasing breakfast consumption in adolescent girls, but currently this is focused on UK girls. In research however, we publish our findings and ideas, so that they can then be used by other researchers in other countries to adapt the interventions and use them there. I am also working on reports for the World Health Organization, which evaluates rules and regulations around food marketing across the globe – how effective are they at stopping children from being exposed to advertising for unhealthy foods and drinks – thought this is not specific to girls/women, it has a positive impact for all.
