Question: what advice would you give to the younger generation about being a scientist?

Hi,
Great question! I think my answer is is quite short, but – always ask questions and be inquisitive, never take statements as facts without looking for and against evidence. Also remember that there is no such things as ‘proof’ in science. We can only disprove something (called the black swan theory – you can’t say all swans are white because you can never count this, but by seeing a black swan you can say with certainty not all swans are white). Take these lessons outside of science too and always ask questions about all aspects of your life.
