This is a great question! I think I’d perhaps try to run a workshop (in person, after the pandemic) on why getting good and sufficient sleep is so important, even when we are young adults. I think that a lot of students at university have poor sleep habits because of the nature of uni life, so I think it’s crucial to at least make them aware that poor sleep habits over a number of years can have a negative effect on our health longer term. I’d like to run a workshop with young people around this so that we perhaps start to tell people from any earlier age about how important sleep is, as this could help prevent some diseases in later life (for example, heart disease, diabetes, dementia, amongst others). I’d use the money to run a really good event and invite a couple of world-renowned sleep medicine experts and I’d love to provide some really nice catering, as most events I go to have quite bad catering!
Hi AlishaC. Over the years, I’ve been supporting a school project for children in a slum in the Philippines – it’s the same slum where I grew up. If you have the time, I invite you to go over my profile to learn a bit about my journey. Should I win, my prize money will go to these children.
Luck and circumstances salvaged me; I’m now paying it back.I am supporting children in the slums in the Philippines who are treading the same paths that I once trod.
