• Question: How has Covid-19 influenced the way in which psychologists look at ways to improve mental health, will this change due to the effects of COVID-19 isolation?

Hi Abby! Good question! The way that therapy is done has certainly changed. A lot of sessions will have been done over the phone or (if possible) over video calling instead of in person. Some early research already shows that mental health difficulties have increased over the past year, but we will definitely need to wait a little longer to await the results of some of the bigger trials on how it has affected mental health and therapies. This research should then inform potential changes to how therapy might need to change further! The core principles of therapy will still be applicable though, and will have helped people over the last year. I’m sorry I can’t give any more specific answers, but maybe some of the therapists in the group can give a better answer in how this is affecting their therapy sessions already?
