• Question: have you ever met a famous scientist

      Good question, no I haven’t met any famous scientists. But sometimes as a researcher you get to go to conferences (where you learn about others work and talk about your own) and there you can meet other researchers in your specific area. They’re not famous, but because you’ve learnt so much about their work and read a lot of their papers, it can almost feel that way haha!
      I do remember that through school (I think I was probably in Year 9) I got to go to a talk with different scientists. I don’t remember who all of them were, but one was Dr Maggie Aderin-Pocock who is a brilliant physicist, I’ve always remembered that and have seen her on a few TV shows since then.

    Hi Kayden. Just last month, I interviewed Professor Nigel MacLennan on my YouTube channel. He’s also my speaker at my next conference (https://www.icpce2021.psychreg.org/). I would say that he’s famous because he’s the president of the British Psychological Society.

    The good thing about meeting famous psychologists, such as Professor MacLennan, is that many of them will make you comfortable. They exude an unassuming attitude and will not portray themselves as ‘I-know-everything-in-psychology’.
