Our brains are very complicated and are able to control all of our voluntary movements (the ones we decide to do) like playing football or painting a picture or using the internet.
They also control all the movements that we don’t decide to do, like keeping our balance when we stand up or moving all the muscles in our gut so that we can digest food. Life would be very complicated if we had to control every muscle individually!
One thing that our brain doesn’t control are the movements that happen very quickly, like if we accidentally touch something that is very hot. We will pull our hands away without thinking because the pain signals by-pass the brain and just work within the spinal cord to allow us to move extra quick so that we don’t hurt ourselves.
