Probably not. I think some people will always need something other than science to believe in. And honestly, although my research gives us ideas about how people come to have empathy for other people and how children come to have a conscience, I don’t think science will ever be able to offer a moral guide book for people to pick up and follow.

I don’t imagine so! Religion and science are both belief systems. One regulates the way that people live and behave (religion); the other helps us to develop tools to understand our lives and the world around us. Science doesn’t provide us with a rule-book for how to live your life!
