This is a very good question, which raises issues that many individuals have to face every day. Scientists/clinicians have become ever more able to develop tests to identify probabilities of abnormalities in developing foetuses. As a scientist, I can understand why society might wish to see such tests being developed. But the only people able to make the judgement on whether or not to have such tests, and whether or not to act on the results of those tests, are the individuals involved. This has to be a matter of personal choice and personal conscience.
