Any change is stressful, whether it’s a positive or negative event. In the stressful life events scale, death of a spouse is given a ranking of 100 as the most stressful, getting married is 50, and adding a member of the family is 39.

Stressful events that are generally (A) uncontrollable, (B) unpredictable, and (C) chronic are worst for us to deal with. If you think about it, children may be all three of these!
