That will be worse that you are on a volcano that is acive! That will be not a good thing to do.

I agree – I tend to try not to do field work that is going to be dangerous. There are no data that are worth the risk of death! Actually, during fieldwork the most dangerous part is usually the travel. I have never had a serious incident in a car/truck – but some of my colleagues have – though I have been on a helicopter that lost one its two engines; and have been held up at gunpoint twice! (Both times, when I was with a car).
