I studied the coral reef during my undergraduate degree, before I started my PhD on Bumblebees. For my degree I had to learn about all different types of nature surveys. I had to do a course about how to survey fish and coral and then i put what i had learnt into practice whilst diving on a reef. This was an amazing experience! I got to learn about all the different types of fish and coral, and then count them underwater. We had special underwater paper and pens so we could write under the sea.
Although I dont have to look for bees underwater I learn lots of useful skills that help me with my bee surveys.
