      Hi Nitrozz25,

Ernest Rutherford was the first person to prove that atoms were the particular form they are believed to be in today! He did an experiment where he fired atoms against each other to measure how many bounced back! Due to the amount he detected bouncing back, he was able to say that most of an atom is just empty space, with a dense core at the centre, which is being orbited by tiny electrons!

      Peter
