Question: What is the most recent discovery of yours?

I have been working on a new computer model for extinction. As part of this i have been looking back at some old models and trying to work out what was good or bad about them. I have recently discovered that some of the old model have a pattern in then that looks exciting but can actually be explained by some quite boring statistics! This sounds like a pretty boring and negative discovery but it is so important in science to try and get to the bottom of everything, even if it doesn’t turn out to be a EUREKA moment! This discovery has been really good for me because it means that I understand the models better and can make mine really good.
