• Question: what does smoking do to the environment, and how can i help stop it from happening?

      Thats an interesting question. We normally think of smoking as having health impacts, not environmental ones. But you are right, there are environmental issues associated with smoking.
      Probably the biggest issue is that ignorer to make cigarettes we have to grow lots of tobacco. Tobacco grows in hot countries like South America, and so in some cases areas of the rainforest are being destroyed to make room for tobacco plantations. This is really bad.
      Another problem is that lots of people leave their cigarette butts as litter. This is dangerous to small animals that might try and eat them. The cigarette buts can also end up in the water causing pollution.
      You can help by deciding not to smoke…I have never smoked in my life and I am glad about that. You can talk to your friends and family about it and maybe they will not smoke because of you. Not only will you be helping the environment but you will be helping keep them healthy too 🙂
