Honduras was amazing. I was working for a charity call Operation Wallacea. They use science to help protect animal and plants all over the world. I went out to Honduras with a group of about 20 scientist from all different countries.
We lived in the jungle for 2 weeks. We had to find somewhere to make a safe camp and we slept in tents or in hammocks in the trees. We had to cook our food on the fire and wash in the river. It was hot in the day but cold at night. And sometimes there were huge rainstorms so we got really wet. I saw so many amazing creatures in the jungle. We did lots of surveys to count all of the different plants and animals.
After the Jungle we moved to a tiny desert island. This is where I did my reef surveys. We would go out on a boat with the local fishermen and they would drop us off at the coral reef and we would dive down to count the fish. It was a bit nicer on the island because it was warmer and we slept on the beach.
It was the most amazing adventure and I hope i get to do many more!
