      Hello Diana,

It is a lot of fun being a scientist. Carrying out Turing test experiments you see and hear a lot of laughter from participants who are trying to tell if they are talking to humans or machines – it makes me smile and happy that people are enjoying acting as judges or ‘hidden humans’ foils for the machines.

Travel is a part of being a scientist, on Sunday I’m flying to Moscow to give a talk on artificial intelligence at a conference on Monday. Other trips in the last 16 months have included conference trips and project proposal collaborations in Barcelona, Den Haag, Rome, Berlin, Lisbon, Brussels, Athens and Darmstaad.

International collaboration is also part of being a scientist, you get to meet with and work alongside some wonderful scientists from around the world.
