• Question: how did you find out about cybernetics because I have never heard of it before?

      Hello Lucy2004simmons,

      Cybernetics is not a new area. Way back in 1948 the study of control in humans, animals and machines was named cybernetics. So I heard about it when I started to study for my first degree.

      Also, in 1998-9 there was lots of news about British control engineer, Professor Kevin Warwick becoming the first human cyborg through a chip implant in his upper left arm. He conducted a second cyborg experiment in 2002 in which both he and his wife, Irina Warwick were chipped. This experiment has made it into the Guinness Book of Records. Professor Warwick also wrote about these experiments in his book, ‘I, Cyborg’ – I recommend it.
