      Hello Bestgirl12,

I didn’t know Pluto had become extinct – I might be wrong but I thought it had been downgraded from being categorised as a planet.

      Hello,
The part of the solar system where we found Pluto actually has lots of Pluto-sized balls of rock and ice, that were discovered quite a long time after the discovery of Pluto. For this reason, Pluto was ‘downgraded’ to a dwarf planet because if we included all the Pluto-sized dwarf planets as planets, we’d have to learn over ten thousand planet names instead of the well-known 8!
