• Question: Does being a scientist mean you always have to be focused and you aren't allowed a break?

      Hello Angie,

      Of course you can have breaks, we’re human, we need them 🙂

      A scientist is like any other job in terms of focus, whether you’re an engineer or a pilot or working in a zoo or a coffee shop, when you’re working it would help if you can focus, if you can’t then best to take a break and refresh.

      Definitely not! There are lots of studies that suggest that regular breaks are very helpful for keeping focus, so I always welcome a break to help me try to solve a tricky puzzle!
