The equations that I have studied during my scientific career have all been so complicated that you can only solve them using a computer. In some cases even a computer can’t do it.
They are called ‘nonlinear partial differential equations’. Most people don’t learn about them until they get to university and study advanced courses in mathematics.
At the moment I’m studying the ‘Navier-Stokes’ equations. They are so complicated and important that you can win $1,000,000 just for proving that they actually always have a solution. (Seriously!)
