well plant guts are actually the plants roots and the most interesting ones I have looked at come from a barley plant that has totally bald roots! Normally roots are hairy and that lets the plant absorb water and nutrients from the soil. The plants that have bald roots are kinda weird, they are a lot smaller than normal plants and they also have totally different bacteria living around their roots…..just now I’m trying to find out why the bacteria are different and if that helps the plant to stay alive without hairy roots. If I find out I’ll let you know!
