      It’s made of rock and minerals that are so hot they have turned into a liquid. Every solid turns into a liquid (or a gas) if it gets hot enough and the temperature of lava can be around 1000 degrees Celsius. (!)

      lava is rock that has become so hot it melts in to a liquid. Lava is called lava when it has erupted to the earths surface, it is called magma when it is within the earths core.
