you fail with things all the time! the fun thing about being a scientist is that you’re trying to do things that nobody has ever done before, but that means they’re quite difficult.
most of the time you try something which doesn’t work, so you change it a bit and try again. but each time you know a little bit more than you did before. the important thing is being able to spot why you failed and being able to change that next time. everything works eventually!
In science things fail ALL the time! Because you are trying new things and new ways to do things they don’t often work the first time but each time something fails it gives you the chance to think of how you can change it to make it work…and when it does work it’s the best feeling ever! So in a way failing at a science task isn’t really failing, it’s learning how not to do something.
Although I have failed to convince certain organisations to give me money to travel to conferences…many, many times 🙁
