• Question: do you ever go for challenges against people

      brilliant question!
      I guess just now I’m doing a challenge against other people because myself and the other 4 scientists are having a competition to see who gets the most votes for answering questions like your one. The winner gets £500 to spend on a science activity.

      In my job as a scientist you are kind of in a challenge against other people, especially people that research something similar to you…we are in a bit of a race to get answers first and to publish them in science journals first too. At the same time though we all help each other and give each other tips about what might help our research too. Most scientists are really helpful and supportive of each other.
