Great question Cosmic. No my parents did not have the opportunity as I did. But I’m sure they would have been great scientists.

      Hi Cosmic,

When I was at High School I wasn’t really sure what I wanted to do, I really wanted to be a Dr but where I grew up most people didn’t go to University and a lot didn’t even have jobs so I guess I didn’t think I was “the type of person” to go to University even though I did really well at school. I think my Mum and Stepdad didn’t really think much about me going to university either, it was literally never discussed at home.

I decided I wanted to be a scientist when I was in my mid 20s and by that time I had grown up, moved out and had a family of my own. My parents are very proud of how far I have come though and they are very supportive.

      Senga 🙂
