Question: Why don't we have biodegradable plastic straws instead of the paper ones in restaurants??

That’s a good question. There are some places in the world that it is required by law that restaurants provide paper straws instead of plastic ones. Where the law doesn’t require it, unfortunately it will depend on the environmental awareness of the managers/owners . Maybe, when it is possible, we could politely suggest to restaurants we see are offering plastic straws to replace for paper ones – it definitely helps to overcome some pollution issues.
