I work with a lot of very smart people (and a few stupid ones…) but it’s important to remember that there are different kinds of ‘smart’. Some people I’ve worked with are really smart with book learning but have no practical skills, while others may not be as academically bright but really know their job inside out.
Also, just being clever isn’t everything. There’s also how you talk to people, how you work with others, are you a complete pain in the neck etc…

Probably myself. haha definitely joking there btw! Erm that’s a difficult one. Everyone I work with has different skills. Some of the more experienced ones maybe have more perspective on the science being done round the world. The best scientist I ever worked with was my first industrial supervisor. Her name was Audrey – she was just a brilliant researcher and always encouraged me. I wouldn’t have carried on in research if it wasn’t for her
