I am a PhD yet. So not enough 🙂 but when I start working it will be higher.

A university lecturer in chemistry at my university earns £30K-50K per year depending on how senior they are. An associate Professor (the next level of seniority up) earns £50-£63K. A Professor earns anything from the top of that range to about £100K a year.

I work in industry, and the simple answer is you can make as much as you want. You need to be prepared to put in the hard work though.
