I always wanted to work in pharmaceutical/medicinal chemistry so took that as a module at university. Medicines are all chemicals so it’s easy to apply your chemical skills to the pharmaceutical setting. I then made the jump from pharmaceutics to sustainability again by applying the same skills to a different topic. Chemicals and polymers are everywhere around us so it’s a very fundamental set of skills to gain.
