      Yes – there are lots of problems – as with developing anything new!
      One of the problems is that plants like water – so all the molecular structures also making up plants like water. So it’s very difficult to make packaging for products containing lots of water, or for the packaging to survive a long time in a wet environment.
      Another challenge is with price. Lots of plastics are very cheap now, partly because they are made at a huge scale, so it’s difficult to start making something new as cheaply.
      Also, every plant is slightly different, so you have to adapt the process to make the replacement plastic to take into account these differences.
