      Yes, it’s rewarding to solve problems but also then see the products I’ve worked on out in the world.

      I really like it because it is a job that allows me to learn something new everyday 🙂

      I love my job – but it’s stressful at times. But it’s really fun inventing daily, and constantly having to problem solve. And all with a real purpose.

      Absolutely. I sometimes say that if this wasn’t my job, I’d be doing something like this as a hobby!

      I enjoy working in research – its nice to feel that what I’m doing is important and will help work towards progress in science generally!

      Of course, and I’m lucky that I get to do something that I genuinely enjoy each day. Like every job it can have its difficult times, but the sense of achievement when, for example, you close off a project makes those difficult times worthwhile.

      Absolutely! I find ways to design and make new materials for a healthy planet.

      Yes I love it! An underestimated part of being a scientist is being creative to solve problems which is really exciting. I am currently working on making greener plastics (not just changing their colour!) which feels very rewarding and will hopefully make a difference in the real world

      yes! I enjoy trying to solve new challenges, and doing something that really feels like I’m making a difference!

      Definitely! I have a lot of freedom and flexibility to scope out what I want to research and develop myself as an expert in a topic that interests me and I feel has an important purpose. I get to challenge myself everyday.
