Firstly, it is so exciting and fun to explore things that people have not seen yet. It’s a complete mystery and you are the first to see it!
Secondly, there are so many other reasons why exploring is important. Whilst we explore we might find new plants and animals that have not yet been seen before. These animals and plants might behave in a certain way (providing us answers to questions about evolution) or might be key to protecting the ecosystem. With plants, they may even contain some new medicines that we might be able to cure diseases with. The plants might be a great food source (containing lots of vitamins) or might be a good replacement fuel source that we could harvest.

It is becoming harder to explore new places on earth as many have now been explored by humans. However, there are still so many places left. This includes a huge portion of the oceans that have not been explored, in addition to many valleys and caves in the tropical rain forests of south America and in Africa.
