• Question: What is the most interesting plant you’ve seen?

      It is like you were just looking over my shoulder, my daughter is off school because of the strikes so we have been looking up interesting plants. Some to google are;

      Stone plants – Lithrops
      Stinky flowers – Rafflesia arnoldii
      Leaf mimicry – Boquila trifoliolata
      Exploding seeds – Sandbox Tree

      Ones I have seen and grown myself is without doubt the venus fly trap, I love how it shows the diversity of plants, and also that it shows the ability to ‘think’, as it is able to count – if triggered twice in a short period it closes, but if triggered twice but longer time period it stays open. I used to have these as part of my outreach events, as well as Pitcher plants.
