Question: how many plants photosynthesize

Generally all plants (as well as some algae and bacteria) can photosynthesise. However, there are some plants with very little chloroplasts (main photosynthetic organ) and so are actually parasitic.

For example Beechdrops steal nutrients from the roots of beech trees, so very rarely have to photosynthesise for themselves.
