Plants are not pollinators in themselves – but they may self-pollinate. Monocots such as grass and wheat self-pollinate where basically the anther (with the pollen) brushes against the stigma (with the ovules), allowing the pollen to reach the ovules and set seed. Other plant species require the pollen to be moved to the stigma via wind or insect.
