I’m not sure what you mean exactly. If you mean how do seeds germinate and turn into plants, then they need the right triggers (just the the right temperature, moisture and light) . If you mean how do closed flowers (buds) open up, well again it’s the same triggers – the right temperature, enough food, water and light. Plants can tell what time of year it is by how long the days are and whether they are getting longer or shorter – they’re pretty amazing!
Some flowers also open and close each night (danelions for example), this daily opening and closing is due to light triggers. Most plants know the difference between day and night and basically have an internal clock allowing certain processes to occur during the day (such as daily flower opening) or night.
