How do 2 plants make another plant?
There are certain plant species where individual members only carry male or female reproductive organs. The male organs are called stamens, which produce pollen, while the female organs are called carpels. To make new plants, the pollen from a male plant needs to land on the carpel of a female plant. Depending on the species, this can happen with the help of wind (windpollination), but mostly this happens with the help of animals (bees, flies, beetles, etc).
Once a carpel is pollinated, it will form a seed which can then grow a new plant.

We call plants that reproduce like this dioecious, which translates as “two households”.
