      Plants will die if the things they need to survive (the right amount of light, water, nutrients and the right temperature) are removed. This can be because of the time of year, or damage by animals (grazing, trampling etc) or diseases. It can also be because of the way the plant is programmed – many plants will die once they have flowered and produced seed, just like many insects die once they have mated and produced the next generation
