I have met some, yes! In my workplace, the John Innes Centre, on most Fridays we have a Friday Seminar. A scientist from another lab will travel or appear on a video call to talk to us about their work. The most recent example is Professor Richard Henderson, who works on electron microscopes and even won a Nobel Prize for his work! Electron microscopes are a way of seeing even smaller things than light microscopes, and many scientists at the JIC use them regularly, so it was fun to hear stories about how the technique was developed.
