I really like studying superconductors and superfluids, like I do now. They’re things that when you cool them to very very low temperatures (some below -200 degrees Celsius) they start behaving in unexpected ways. Superconductors do cool things in magnetic fields. You can get some of them to levitate (I’m sure there are loads of videos online)! Superfluids can be even stranger. If you had a glass of superfluid it might start climbing up the side of the glass! If you tried started swirl it like when you mix your tea with a spoon and then left it, it would never stop spinning!
A more general answer would be that I like studying theoretical things – things that might exist but we can’t create or test them with experiments yet, because it lets my imagination run wild. While I don’t get to do experiments which can be quite sad (but might be a good thing because I can be quite clumsy!), it means I get to do a lot of maths which might sound boring to you, but I love it!
