Hi Kacper. When I was in school I really hated maths. I was very bad at it and would get very frustrated when I didn’t understand it. I even had to get extra tutoring outside of school so that I could pass my final year maths classes. But when I got to university I found it easier to understand maths problems when they were more related to things I wanted to study. I am still not great at it, but now that I understand what I can use different maths skills for, for example when designing experiments or calculating my results, I find it much easier to remember and understand those skills.
Hello again, Kacper. I think I may have said this in our chat already, but probably French. Which is a shame as I would love to be better at speaking other languages… Also (and this is a bit awkward given that I now work in archaeology), but I didn’t really enjoy history at school.
For me it was History which, at the time I thought was terribly boring – though now I really enjoy it. I wasn’t very good at maths but found it a mostly enjoyable challenge.
