      Hi Isla 👋 To be a full scientist it would take a couple of years of training and study. You would need to either do A levels, go to University for 3/4 years then train in a lab (or carry on at university and do something called a PhD). Or you could start an apprenticeship after GCSEs or A levels and train to be a scientist for a few years. So either way, you need at least 5 years of knowledge to be a full time qualified scientist!
